Host Our Coast announces $10,000 travel blog winners

July 1, 2009

Delmarva Low-Impact Travel Tourism, in conjunction with Southern Delaware Tourism, announced June 17, that Paul Cox of Woodbury, N.J., and Melanie McLean of Fort Washington, Md., are the winners of the new Host Our Coast contest.

The candidates were chosen from dozens of applicants who posted videos on the organization’s website, detailing why they would be the best to show the online world the splendors of southern Delaware and the Eastern Shore.

During the next two months, the winners will be supplied with a two-bedroom oceanfront condominium, along with $10,000, in exchange for daily posts on Facebook, Twitter and other social networking sites detailing their many adventures.

Delmarva Low-Impact Travel Tourism President Jim Rapp said Cox and McLean were perfect choices for the job because both have extensive experience with travel journalism and both display a tremendous amount of creativity in their daily blogs.
