Hunt for October

September 24, 2021

The Philadelphia Phillies and the majority of teams in Major League Baseball only have 10 games left in the regular season. The Phillies are torturing their loyal fans with how they are playing, but they are hanging in there and are currently three games behind the Atlanta Braves for the division lead. I will be surprised if they can catch the Braves in time to make the playoffs. I don't know about you, but I have really enjoyed watching the important games happen in August and September for the first time in a long while. In order for the Phils to win the division next year, I think we need to add one more starting pitcher and a new quality position player to help to motivate the remaining players from this year.

The Philadelphia Eagles play the Dallas Cowboys this week after coming off a loss to the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers game was quite close, but the Eagles looked confused on offense. For the Eagles to beat the Cowboys, they need to make fewer mistakes and run the ball more in order to take some pressure off their quarterback Jalen Hurts and the defense. I think they made him throw the ball deep way too much last week. He is still basically a rookie quarterback. This is hard for me to say, but I think with the return of QB Dak Prescott, Dallas is a lot better team than last year on both sides of the ball. I hope the race for the division championship will be a tight one between Dallas, Washington and the Eagles.

Next week I will be recapping the Ryder Cup golf results.  Go USA!
