Iceland’s Skógafoss leaves a lasting impression on Cape Gazette traveler

August 16, 2025

Marianne Zweig of Lewes is an avid reader of her Cape Gazette, and she recently took her sense of curiosity beyond the pages—on a trip to Iceland. While exploring the country’s dramatic landscapes, she made a memorable stop at Skógafoss waterfall, one of Iceland’s most iconic natural wonders. Located in southern Iceland, Skógafoss plunges from towering cliffs that once marked the island’s ancient coastline. Though the sea has since receded, and the cliffs are now several kilometers inland, they remain as a striking geological reminder of Iceland’s evolving terrain.
