Illinoisan inspired by Delaware law

July 29, 2025

Erin Lee's commentary in the July 22 edition gives me hope that other states will follow our lead and realize we, too, are humans and have rights. This is a huge step for Delaware! We need more residents in mobile home communities to follow through, rise up and create laws to protect them. We, too, have an issue when we pass on. My heirs are required to move my home out of the community I am in within 30 days. A rental payment on the land will not be accepted by anyone other than myself. If I'm six days late on the rent, I have to pay an additional $50 on the sixth and the 15th, and funds must be in cash or cashier’s check. This would be hard to do and a burden to my heirs if I pass on in the very beginning when my rent is due, especially since my family is in two different states, and must fly here.

Again, Erin Lee's commentary was inspiring to me, and I can use some of her information for MHOAI.
