A little more than seven years after opening, the Iron Hill Brewery on Route 1 north of Rehoboth Beach has closed.

The company announced Sept. 25 on its Facebook page that the Cape Region location and its 15 other locations were now closed. A sign headed “To our valued guests” has been posted on the entrance door of the Rehoboth restaurant.

It reads, “After many wonderful years serving our communities, this location along with our other 15 locations, has closed. It has been our pleasure to serve you, and we are deeply grateful for your support, friendship and loyalty over the years. We sincerely hope to return in the future, and when we do, we promise to welcome you with open arms. With gratitude, the Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant Team.”

The first Iron Hill opened in Newark in 1996. The original location, and one each in Pennsylvania and New Jersey closed weeks ago. One of the first businesses in the Coastal Station development, Iron Hill Brewery’s Rehoboth location opened in late May 2018. It was the company’s 14th location and its third in Delaware.
