Jack P. Russo, retired businessman

Jack P. Russo passed on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014. Jack was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Aug. 28, 1928.  He was the seventh child of Marianna and Vito Russo, and the husband of Carmela "Millie" Russo.

Jack worked in the family fish business on Smith Street in Brooklyn, N.Y., from the early age of 14. Eventually, Jack was the sole owner of the retail business until 1976. He was an active member of the community. He later worked at the Fulton Fish Market in New York City until his retirement in 1990. He and Millie moved to Monroe, N.Y., in 1998. Jack enjoyed playing golf and attending local theater productions. Jack and Millie moved to Millsboro in 2009. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in November 2013.

Jack leaves behind his wife, Millie; his sons, Vito Russo and Jack Russo Jr.; three grandchildren, William Russo, Jonathan Russo and Courtney Jean Russo; and three great-grandchildren, Luke Russo, Samuel Russo and Francis Torregosa.

Services were held Monday, Jan. 20, at Raccuglia & Sons in Brooklyn, with burial Jan. 21 at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, N.Y. Please send donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN in lieu of flowers.
