Jeremy William T. Purnell, cherished his family

March 25, 2020

Jeremy William T. Purnell went home to be with the Lord Thursday, March 19, 2020. Jeremy was the loving son of Allen and Stacey Purnell of Millsboro. Jeremy was also blessed with the love of his father and bonus mother Barry and Iris Brittingham of Berlin, Md.

Jeremy loved playing basketball, cleaning his truck, family gatherings and going to the gym as he worked toward his dream of being a walk-on in the NFL. Above all, he cherished time spent with those he held most dear. He was the most loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, godfather, godson and friend.

Jeremy is survived by precious grandmothers, Nancy Naomia Wescott of Frankford and Bessie Purnell of Bishopville, Md., and his loving great-grandmother Luetta “Billie” Harris-Showell of Frankford.

He is also survived by his siblings, Ja’Ronte Purnell of Frankford, Niketa Brittingham and Barry Brittingham Jr. (Laura) of Salisbury, Md., Yakia Brittingham and Adrian Brittingham of Berlin, and he considered them all his Kings and Queens.

Jeremy was a blessed godson with two godmothers: Valarie Connor of Frankford and Carlyn Hudson of Millsboro; and two godfathers, Fabian McCray of Dagsboro and the late Barry Hudson of Millsboro.

Additionally, Jeremy is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, godchildren, godbrothers, godsisters and just an outpouring of friends and family who loved Jeremy to the moon and back! He will be missed beyond measure!

A private service will be held with interment following at Zoar Golden Acres in Bishopville.
