Jetset Travel opens office in Rehoboth Beach

Originally founded in Dover in the summer of 2005 by husband and wife Mithat and Angela Armutcu, Jetset Travel, an American Express Representative, has opened a second office in Rehoboth Beach. The new office, run by the couple, their daughter, Talia, a University of Delaware senior, and friend, Lauren Hall, officially opened Jan. 14. The three-time American Express Excellence Award-winning company is focused on customer service and saving their clients money, time and stress when booking trips.
New York native Angela worked for various travel agencies before moving to Delaware in 2003. “After 9/11 we decided to look for an alternative, so we moved to Delaware,” she said. After not finding any successful work in the First State, Angela and Mithat decided to open their own business. After 14 years of being a business owner, the couple decided to make another move. “We have a condo in Rehoboth Beach and have been thinking about another move,” Angela said. “It's like starting over, but you’re really not.”
Aside from adding a human element to booking trips, Jetset Travel offers a multitude of beneficial aspects that might not be thought of by the average person. A popular misconception is, “because it’s online, it has to be cheaper. That’s not always true,” Angela said. However, due to the abundance of people booking trips online, Angela noted, “It’s hard to get people to trust us. Travel agencies should be respected. We have a lot of knowledge and know the best ways to go about booking trips.”
When asked why people should use Jetset Travel as their travel agency, Mithat said, “Coming to us is really beneficial. We don’t have any hidden fees or charge extra money, and most of us have 30 years’ experience each.” He went on to advise people to “go search on the internet, look around. But before you book with them, give us a chance. Almost 100 percent of the time we have the same deal, if not better.”
“So many people call and say they had bad experiences booking their trips online,” Angela said. “I like when they say that. Customer service is important; that’s why we’ve had the same people coming to us for so many years.” Also, due to extensive requirements from American Express, “Jetset Travel ensures that personal information does not go online, which many customers are greatly appreciative about,” Angela said.
Throughout the years, Jetset Travel has been one of 25 representatives under American Express, and the only one in Delaware. However, they do not cater exclusively to American Express members. “Everyone is welcome,” Mithat said. “Give us a chance and use the expertise.”
