Jewell Phillips McQuay, Rehoboth business owner

Jewell Phillips Wells McQuay, 91, of Lewes, passed away Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at The Pines in Easton, Md.

 

Mrs. McQuay was born in Toccoa, Ga., to the late John Phillips and Maude Cook Phillips. A longtime business owner in Rehoboth Beach and a veteran of World War II, she was a member of the American Legion Unit 28 of Millsboro.

 

Mrs. McQuay is survived by her daughter, Frankie Wells Bauer of Cape Coral, Fla.; and two granddaughters, Kathy Lill, Easton and Jennifer Wadkovsky of Charlotte, N.C.; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William S. McQuay; three sisters, Nell King, Ocean City, Md., Jane Hammond of St. Simons Island, Ga. and Virginia Marchegiani of Orlando, Fla.

Services and burial will be private.
