Joan I. Failor, loved horses
Joan I. Failor, 87, of Lewes, passed away Monday, Dec. 12, 2022, at her home. She was born Nov. 9, 1935, in Milford, daughter of the late Lionel and Iva (Rogers) Ingram.
Joan worked for Joyce’s Slipcover Shop for 20 dedicated years, as well as owning her own slipcover business. She had a love for all animals, but a special affinity for horses. Joan enjoyed being outside in the sunshine and fresh air, particularly doing yard work and keeping her home beautiful. More than anything, however, she cherished time spent with those she held most dear. Joan was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. Loved by many, she will be genuinely missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Parker E. Failor; her daughter Iva Jane Fagan; and her siblings: Richard M. Ingram Sr., Samuel Ingram, Nelson Ingram, Pearl Wilkins and Fay Graham. She is survived by her daughter, Christine C. McCarty of Milton; her grandchild, Ragen McCarty; and her loyal feline friend, Pixie.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 22, at Henlopen Memorial Park, 28787 Lockerman Road, Milton.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, P.O. Box 22324, New York, NY 10087, lls.org.
