October 8, 2019

John Logan MacBlain, 38, of Milton passed away Thursday, Oct. 3, 2019, at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, in Philadelphia, Pa., with his wife and mother by his side due to complications from pneumonia.  He was born Sept. 30, 1981 in Milford.

John graduated from Cape Henlopen High School, class of 1999. He owned and operated his own IT business, First State Computers, for several years, and currently was working as a systems specialist at Delaware Technical Community College. John loved more than anything else his two children who were his pride and joy, and he would spend all his free time playing with them and teaching them all he could.  He also was often seen watching his son playing baseball for Milton Little League and cheering him on. John loved going fishing, anything that had to do with computers, traveling and taking trips with his wife and children, and was an avid Atlanta Falcons football fan.

John will be remembered for his infectious smile and ability to make anyone laugh. He was a kind and friendly soul who was often referred to as the "gentle giant."  Many would love to hear his many stories and endless laughs always followed. He was a true friend to many, and captivated anyone he met.

John is survived by the love of his life and wife of 10 years, Chrysta; his son, Gavin; his daughter, Kylie; his mother, Debra Lynn Phillippi and stepfather, Luis Davila; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Julie and Gary Wilson of Rehoboth Beach; father-in-law Eric Chaya of New Hampshire; brother James H. Gillespie of Milford; aunt, Lettie Graves and her husband Robert of Harrington; nephew, Aiden H. Gillespie; and cousins, Rebecca Moore and Andrew Stubbs.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, Oct. 14, at noon, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may call beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will follow services at Henlopen Memorial Park, Milton.
