Johnson Orthodontics donates Save-a-Tooth kits to local schools

March 6, 2019

Local orthodontist Dr. Jonathan Johnson has donated Save-a-Tooth kits to all the Cape Henlopen district schools, as well as Sussex Academy and Delmarva Christian High School.

Considering the popularity of after-school sports programs, Johnson thought these would make relevant and useful gifts.

There are very few options available to people who have had a tooth knocked out, unless they receive immediate dental care. The Save-a-Tooth system can keep a tooth alive for 24 hours until a dentist can replant it. It also rinses and carries the tooth safely.

Johnson hopes the schools will never have to actually use the kits, but wanted them to be prepared in case of a dental emergency.
