Johnson Orthodontics surprises local teachers

Melissa Tuttle and Jacquie Kisiel receive Tanger Outlets gift cards
May 29, 2018

Dr. Jonathan C. Johnson recently surprised local teachers Melissa Tuttle and Jacquie Kisiel with Tanger Outlets gift cards.

In a twist on his regular quarterly teacher appreciation contest, Johnson had patients nominate their favorite teachers by writing their names on a chalkboard. A photo was taken of them holding the chalkboard, and photos were uploaded to social media with the hashtag #TeachersRule2018.

Kisiel’s photo received almost 400 likes on Facebook and Instagram, earning her first prize. She was nominated by her student James Falk.

Realizing not all patients are as active on social media as others, Johnson selected a second winner, Tuttle, by random drawing. She was nominated by her student Krish Prattipati.

Kisiel is a fifth-grade science teacher at Rehoboth Elementary, and Tuttle is a Cape Accelerated Program teacher at Love Creek Elementary.

Quarterly teacher appreciation contests are Johnson’s way of saying thanks to all those teachers who exhibit patience and understanding toward their students who must miss class for appointments. Two teachers were selected this quarter in recognition of Teacher Appreciation Week.
