Judith K. Skelton, Lewes business woman
Judith K. Skelton, 74, of Lewes, passed quietly Sunday, Sept. 6, 2015, in her home among family, as she wanted.
Content with the fullness of her 74 years of life, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, William Skelton. She leaves behind her sister Florence “Libby” Campbell; two sons, Harry Skelton and his wife Sue; and son Bill Skelton and his wife Sonja. Her life legacy spans her two sons; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
A devout Christian woman, born in Harts, W.Va., she spent much of her life in Delaware along with several years spent in North Carolina, Virginia and Florida. A class of 1959 graduate of Lewes High School, she later graduated with honors from Fayetteville State University with a bachelor of science degree in geography, at the age of 45.
She spent much of her life as a good mother, and later as a businesswoman with such companies as Bag and Baggage, and Lowes. Judith had time to reminisce with family and friends in her home before succumbing to complications from kidney failure under the care of her family and Delaware Hospice. She will be greatly missed.
A graveside service and memorial will be held at Henlopen Memorial Park, Route 1, Milton, Friday, Sept. 18, at 11 a.m. The family asks that instead of flowers, donations be made to the Kidney Foundation of your choice, or the SPCA nearest you.
