Kellen Cannon of Sussex Tech reaches 100 career goals

Sussex Tech junior Kellen Cannon reached 100 regular-season goals March 22 in the Ravens'  15-12  loss to St. Mark's at Raven Stadium. Cannon scored the first four goals of the contest and paced the Tech girls to a 7-1 lead before the Spartans turned on the afterburners and went on to a 15-12 victory.

Cannon led all scorers with seven goals while junior Madeline Ellenberger tallied three. Sophomore Dorian Zimmerman and senior Franchesca Delrosario each had one goal for the Ravens.

Zimmerman and Hannah Small each assisted on a goal. Tech goalie Linsey Downing recorded six saves for the Ravens.  The Ravens play host to Delmarva Christian Monday, March 26, before traveling to Middletown Tuesday, March 27.

 

Dan has worked for the Cape Gazette for more than 30 years as a photographer and reporter, covering high school sports and happenings around eastern Sussex County. He won a photography award from the National Newspaper Association, and numerous awards from the Maryland, Delaware, D.C. Press Association. A Delaware native, Dan graduated from Cape in 1972 and returned as a teacher and coach in the 1980s. He retired from the classroom in 2016. He was inducted into Cape High’s Legends Stadium in 2016. In his spare time, Dan enjoys spending time with his wife, two sons, grandchildren and dogs.
