Kelly Griffin joins Beebe as director of marketing and communications

July 8, 2011

Beebe Medical Center has announce that Kelly Griffin has been appointed director of marketing and communications.

Griffin brings more than 20 years experience in marketing, public relations and media relations, most of it focused solely on the healthcare industry. Griffin is also well versed in reaching audiences through the internet and social media platforms.

In recent years, Griffin has operated her marketing communications and public relations consulting business, Kelly Griffin & Associates, which was based on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. She has also served as a contributing editor and writer for a trade publication and editor of a regional lifestyle magazine and guidebooks.

For 14 years prior, Griffin served as director of marketing and community outreach for Carrier Clinic (formerly Foundation), one of the largest, not-for-profit behavioral healthcare systems in New Jersey.

Griffin was a member of the part-time, adjunct faculty at Rider University in Lawrenceville, N.J., for six years and taught three different public relations courses to college sophomores, juniors and seniors until she relocated her business to Virginia.

She has been a staunch supporter of domestic violence and sexual assault prevention and served for many years on the board of directors for Womanspace Inc., a nonprofit agency with administrative offices in Trenton, N.J., that provides services for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. She served as a director, a committee chairwoman and served two terms as board vice president and then president.

She also served as a Domestic Violence Victim Response Team volunteer, meeting with domestic violence victims and helping them to explore their options, as well as providing support. Since she relocated to the Delmarva Peninsula, she serves as a member of the Womanspace Advisory Council.

Griffin has a master’s degree from Central Michigan University in business management and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Rider University. She and her team members have received numerous marketing and writing awards.
