Kenda Lynn Warner, loved the Lord

September 27, 2022

Kenda Lynn Warner of Milford passed away peacefully Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2022, in the comfort of her own home while lying hand-in-hand with her loving husband Bob. Her earthly body gave way, but her spirit was beyond ready to be with our Heavenly Father and gracious creator guiding her spirit to the pearly gates of the heavenly realm. She fought a courageous and dignified fight throughout the last couple of years of her life.  At 63 years young, she was more than a fighter; she defined the word survivor.

She was born in Olean, N.Y., to loving parents Rev. Alvin and Doris Willink. Her father was a beloved Methodist minister and leader of many churches during her younger years, where she ultimately learned at a young age never to stay in one place too long and what that truly meant. Overall it gave her the ability to meet and mingle among many, but more importantly touch the lives of so many people she encountered throughout her brief stay.

She attended Woodbridge High School until her junior year and would later attend Lake Forest High School and graduate Class of 1977. She received her cosmetology license from Vincent Et Julian Hair Fashions in Dover shortly after. Thanks to her radiant and bubbly personality, she would be top in sales for Pearl Vision in Northern Virginia while living around the Washington, D.C. area. She continued to work in ophthalmology for many years. She wore many hats in life, but her love for our four-legged friends became her true calling and passion over the last 15 years. She loved each and every customer and their furry sidekicks. She blessed many people's lives while running While Your Away, an in-home pet-sitting and doggie daycare business.

Her contagious laugh and her life-of-the-party demeanor will truly be missed! She was a fabulous wife, mother, aunt, sister and friend who touched so many. She loved the Lord and she let that be known.

She is survived by her husband, Robert (Bob) Warner; daughters, Lauren Kusik, and Andrea Warner-Hemming and husband Kenny and daughter Eva Monroe; son, Bradford Warner and wife Chelsey; brothers, Kevin Willink and wife Kathy, and Kenny Willink, along with their children and grandchildren; nephews, Justin Willink, and Kyle Willink and wife Amanda and son Kyler; niece, Anna Ortiz and husband Carlos and son Mason; and granddogs, Sparkle, Gianna, Jack and Romeo.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 2, at Union United Methodist Church chapel, 2 N. Laws St., Bridgeville, where friends may call after 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963, or SPCA of Delaware, or an animal rescue of your choice.

Arrangements in the care of Berry-Short Funeral Home, Milford.
