Kent-Sussex Industries announces cruise raffle winner

Kent-Sussex Industries Inc. held a Cruisin' for a Cause raffle fundraiser to expand its transportation for people with disabilities to community work, learning and volunteer trips. Greenwood resident Karen O'Brien was the winner of an ocean-view stateroom for two cruise vacation on Royal Caribbean International when Milford Mayor Bryan Shupe drew winning raffle tickets April 29 at the Downtown Milford Bug & Bud Festival.

Second-prize winner Alycia Hovey of Harrington received $100 cash, and third-place winner of $50 cash was Angela Allen of Lincoln. Hovey generously donated her cash winnings back to KSI to further support the organization.

Total ticket sales resulted in more than $10,000 raised toward the purchase of new wheelchair lift vehicles. KSI management thanks the staff and board members who spent many hours selling tickets at area events, and Abbott's Grill owners Kevin Reading and Laura Burton for their generous continuing support of KSI and the people it serves. KSI also thanks Steve Monz, Gary Schofield and Delmarva Broadcasting for the ongoing promotion of the cruise raffle, and they thank Downtown Milford Inc. for its support with the 2017 Bug & Bud Festival. Finally, the organization appreciates Patti Persia of Destinations to Explore travel agency for bringing the cruise raffle fundraising opportunity to KSI.
