I am disabled and currently using a wheelchair, so I depend on the help of others in certain situations. I left dialysis in Rehoboth Beach in a hurry to get to the Walgreens pharmacy next door before the window closed for lunch. I contacted my ride, but he was not going to make it in time, so I said to pick me up there. I headed out determined to get there in 10 minutes. When I got to the back of the building, there was a grassy incline. I stopped and evaluated the situation. Then I heard a man's voice, “You are not going to try to get up that hill, are you?" I said, “Yes, watch me." He responded, "I am going to push you." And he did. He was dressed in shirt and tie. I assumed he was a lawyer or worked at the WSFS bank. We went to the drive-through window. Yes, in the wheelchair. Laughing, I made it with two minutes to spare. He went back to his car and made sure I was OK, then he yelled across the parking lot, “Where to now?” I responded that I was meeting my ride up front. He waited until I was safe and left. Thank you! The help from a total stranger made my day and makes a wonderful, heartwarming story that I will tell everyone.
