Knights present Nativity scene at St. Edmond Church

January 11, 2015

A brand-new protective crèche was built by the Knights of Columbus Star of the Sea Council 7297 for the Nativity scene displayed during the Advent season outside St. Edmond Roman Catholic Church on King Charles Avenue in Rehoboth Beach.

The Knights raised funds for the material by holding a lasagna dinner. Some 20 members were involved in making and serving the meal; six used their skills to build the new protective structure. The Knights had previously purchased all of the Nativity figurines as well as the manger inside the larger structure, which could be easily viewed during the daytime and by spotlight at night.
