Lance M. Greener Sr., jack of all trades

February 2, 2023

Lance M. Greener Sr., 64, departed this life Monday, Jan. 30, 2023, at his home. He was born April 25, 1958, in Chester, Pa., son of the late Randolph LaRue Greener and Lillian Louise Covington Greener. He grew up on Love Creek and attended school in Cape Henlopen School District while studying culinary arts at Sussex Vocational School.

Lance enjoyed many hobbies and was a jack of all trades. He was an awesome cook and loved cooking for family and friends. Lance was most happy when his family was gathered together for special holidays enjoying a good meal and sharing lively conversations. He was a kind-hearted gentleman with a loving spirit for aII of God's creatures.

Lance worked various trade jobs and retired early due to a work-related disability. He found much joy in his retirement creating specially crafted works of art out of his woodworking shop, connecting with his natural surroundings and being a caretaker of all things vulnerable.

Lance never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand to others. He was an amazing musician who played the piano and guitar by ear.

In addition to his parents, Lance was preceded in death by his brother, Dean Greener. He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Linette Lafferty Greener. He is also survived by his daughter, Casey Greener Hoefler (Ray} of Venice Fla.; and son, Lance M. Greener Jr. (Kim) of Tampa, Fla.; two grandchildren:  Ella and Addy Hoefler; and siblings:  Cathy Greener Riley, Randy Greener (Hilda) and Shawn Greener (Colleen).

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 15, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Hwy., Lewes, where family and friends may visit one hour prior to services. Interment will be private.
