Lavina Marie Cooper, town secretary

Lavina Marie Cooper, 96, of Georgetown passed away peacefully Friday, Oct. 26, 2018, at her residence.  She was born in Albion, Mich., June 17, 1922, daughter of the late Abner and Mabel (Crosier) Cooper. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Cooper; her daughter and son-in-law, Jennie Mae and Ben Parker; her Aunt Laura Waples; and her brother Norman Pratt.

Mrs. Cooper retired several years ago after 25 years of service as the town secretary for the Town of Georgetown.  She loved animals of all kinds, however, her most precious time was when she was with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Mona Lou Cooper of Millsboro; her son, Mitch Cooper (Linda) of Georgetown; four grandchildren: Wayne Michael Parker (Teresa), Chip Illian (Tammy), Scott Illian (Karin), and Timothy Benchoff;  10 great-grandchildren: Tucker, Craig, Justin (Beth), Lauren, Jordan, Paige, Logan, Harold, Ethan and Emma; and three great-great-grandchildren: Scarlet, Vivian and Tristan Kole.

Private funeral services and burial were held at Union Cemetery, Georgetown.
