Lena Mae Elliott Short, enjoyed her family
Lena Mae Elliott Short, 99, of Georgetown, was born Feb. 22, 1916, and passed away at Harrison Senior Living, Georgetown, Saturday, July 4, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Short worked at the University of Delaware Substation, Georgetown, retiring in 1984, and has since enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Georgetown. She loved the Baltimore Colts and was a huge Baltimore Orioles fan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, B. Thomas Elliott, Eva Calhoun Elliott and Bessie Adams Elliott; her husband Francis Short; baby sister Madeline; brothers Calhoun Elliott, William P. Elliott and wife Jane; sister Anna Louise Scott and husband Edward; brother Marshall T. Elliott; brother Melvin F. Elliott and wife Eulalie; and sister-in-law Eleanor W. Elliott.
She is survived by her daughter, Regina A. Conaway and husband William H. Conaway, and grandson Thomas F. Conaway, all of Georgetown; granddaughter, Kristina Conaway Houseal and husband David R. Houseal, and great-grandchildren Carter and Paige Houseal, all of Salisbury, Md.; brother Lawrence Edwin Elliott, (friend Dot), and brother David H. Elliott (Sherry), and sister-in-law Blanche D. Elliott, all of Laurel; sister-in-law Anna Isabelle Short Morris of Georgetown; and very special nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 10, at 1 p.m., in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, where friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Georgetown.
