January 7, 2022

James Archer Abbott resigned from his position as executive director/curator at Lewes Historical Society effective Dec. 31.

“We are grateful for his contributions during his tenure involving the areas of publishing, creation of exhibitions, development of programming, establishment of protocols for the archives and broadening the organization’s reach in exploring the history of the Lewes area,” the LHS board of trustees said in a statement.

Abbott joined the historical society in September 2019 after serving as the Philip Franklin Wagely Director and Curator of the Evergreen Museum and Library in Baltimore.
