Lewes Historical Society sets Stuff-a-Boat Food Drive Dec. 2-3

November 29, 2022

The Lewes Historical Society, together with the Nautical Academics Captains School, is hosting the Stuff-a-Boat Food Drive to benefit the Cape Henlopen Food Basket. Collections will be accepted during the LHS Holiday Village & Market set for 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 2, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 3, at 110 Shipcarpenter St., Lewes.

Donations also may be delivered from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday to Friday at the LHS main office on the Shipcarpenter Street campus. Paid admittance to the Holiday Village & Market is neither required nor expected of those who wish to deliver a food item on event days. Cash donations will be accepted to go directly to the nonprofit Cape Henlopen Food Basket.

The all-volunteer organization processes more than 2,000 requests for food from Delaware individuals and families each year. A sampling of items included in the grocery bags packed for clients includes canned fruit, tuna, meat, tomatoes, pasta sauce, soup, instant potato flakes, rice, cereal, jelly, juices and more.
