Lewes library seeks commissioner applicants by April 30

March 27, 2023

The Lewes Public Library is seeking candidates to serve a five-year appointment on its board of commissioners through June 30, 2028. Applicants must be residents of the community the library serves. Applicants with experience in fundraising, organizational development, marketing and advocacy are preferred.

The board of commissioners is the governing board of the library, and it seeks to represent a broad spectrum of community interests and occupations. The Lewes Public Library values diversity and is seeking candidates who are reflective of the vast community it serves.

Board members oversee the management of the library as community representatives, determine policies governing its operations and programs, and actively support library-related legislation. Regular meetings are usually held monthly during normal business hours. Special meetings are scheduled as needed.

Letters of interest can be sent by Sunday, April 30, to Lea Rosell, director, Lewes Public Library, 111 Adams Ave., Lewes, DE 19958, or lea.rosell@lib.de.us. Applicants should include personal and professional history, what drives their desire to serve the community, and information about skills they can bring to the library.
