A Lewes man faces charges Jan. 14 after police say he threatened a woman with a gun.

Police were called at 11:17 p.m. to a home in the 20000 block of Plantation Road for a report of shots fired; they learned that Timothy Littleton, 33, had argued with a woman, 37, at the home before he took out a handgun and pointed it at her, said Sr. Cpl. Jason Hatchell of the Delaware State Police. There were three children present inside the residence during the incident, he said.

The woman fled the home on foot, Hatchell said, but a gunshot was fired. She was not injured, and she called police, who tried to find Littleton in a wooded area behind the home. Littleton failed to comply with troopers’ commands and was taken into custody after a Taser deployment, Hatchell said. Troopers recovered a Smith & Wesson handgun on the ground near Littleton.

Littleton was taken to Troop 7 and charged with felony aggravated menacing, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, three counts endangering the welfare of a child, and resisting arrest.

Littleton was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $70,000 cash bond.
