Lewes man charged with burglary

A Lewes man faces charges March 10 after police say he broke into a home on Plantation Road.

Police responded about 2 a.m. to a home in the 19000 block of Plantation Road, and found occupants of the home yelling and pointing in the direction of where they said the suspect had run. Police arrested Dale Andrews, 57, without incident, and learned Andrews had entered the home through an unlocked door and grabbed a man, 57, who sustained minor injuries.

Andrews was taken to Troop 7, where he was charged with first-degree burglary and offensive touching. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $20,500 cash bond.
