Library to host talk with young bilingual author Feb. 1
Georgetown Public Library will host a book discussion with Máximo César Castellanos, a young local bilingual author, at 4:30 p.m., Monday, Feb. 1, via Zoom.
His book’s story begins in a small town near the beach, where a mysterious man lived in a cabin. No one had seen the man leave the cabin for the past 30 years. A humble young man worked in a bar across the street from the cabin. One day, like any other, the young man went to his job at the bar. He didn’t know it, but that day his life would be changed forever because of a bet. Georget, the humble young man, would discover how the man who lived in the cabin, Dr. Pren, and his childhood friends helped save the world.
The book discussion will be a bilingual event open to all ages and levels of fluency. This is a fun way for kids to hear and speak Spanish, and connect with a peer who is already a prominent writer.
The English edition of the book, “Dr. Pren and the Days of his Childhood,” and the Spanish edition, “Dr. Pren y los Días de su Infancia,” are now available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble priced at $15.
