LifeMed Institute Lax falls to Greene Turtle in OC Classic finals

High school lacrosse players from southern Delaware joined forces to compete for LifeMed Institute Lacrosse Club in the Ocean City Lacrosse Classic high school tournament Aug. 5-10.
The first game of the tournament found LifeMed topping the Stephen Decatur-based Marlins 15-3. In the second game, LifeMed dominated the Baltimore-based Beach Boys 11-3. Next, LifeMed defeated the Richmond-based Goochland Dawgs 13-2.
Moving to the semifinals, LifeMed took a 9-2 victory over the Edgelaxers of Kent Island, Md., setting up a battle with Greene Turtle in the finals.
Greene Turtle, with players from Calvert Hall, Loyola and St. Paul’s with 10 Division I commits, halted the LifeMed run 11-2.
“Bringing together some of Delaware’s top lacrosse talent for the legendary OC Lax Classic for a second consecutive year was nothing short of inspiring,” said assistant coach Neil Little. “The LifeMed Institute Lacrosse Club first united last summer to honor the memory of Ryan Andrew and Elijah Ghabor, proudly wearing blue and yellow hearts above their own. This year, those hearts moved to their backs – a powerful symbol that Ryan and Elijah continue to stand with us, every step of the way.”
