Lighthouse foundation sunset cruises and tours start June 6

The Delaware River & Bay Lighthouse Foundation has announced its 2020 schedule. Money raised from the tours will be used to fund ongoing maintenance of the lighthouses.

Sunset cruises are set for 7 to 9 p.m., Saturday, June 6, and 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 12. Trips will depart from the Cape-May Lewes Ferry terminal and sail around the Delaware East End Breakwater Light for photos before proceeding to the Harbor of Refuge Lighthouse for an opportunity to see this icon up close as the sun sets.

Harbor of Refuge tours will be held at 1 and 2:15 p.m., Saturday, June 27; noon and 1:15 p.m., Saturday, July 25; 11 a.m. and 12:15 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 22; and 10 and 11:15 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 19. Trips will depart from the ferry terminal. Once inside the lighthouse, guests will be able to climb the stairway to the watch room and see the light turning in the lantern room. Each floor offers a stunning view of the National Harbor of Refuge. Volunteers will be on hand to talk about the history of the lighthouse.
