Lincoln man, 66, shot in home while sleeping

A Lincoln man, 66, was shot in the chest while sleeping Sept. 18 in his home.

Police responded at 6:21 a.m. to a home in the 29000 block of Fleatown Road for a report of a shooting, police said, and learned someone entered the residence through an unsecured door and shot the 66-year-old man in the chest while he was sleeping. The man was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
