Lincoln man faces charges after threatening co-worker
A Lincoln man faces DUI and other charges after police say he threatened a co-worker Feb. 9 in Georgetown.
Police responded at 9:45 a.m. to Donovan’s Salvage Works at 20269 Donovan’s Road for a report of a terroristic threatening, police said, and learned a man had argued with a co-worker and threatened to leave and return with a gun to kill the co-worker.
Troopers spoke with Jose Sanchez, 44, on the phone and learned that his car had broken down on Seashore Highway. Police said when they found him in his car and spoke to him, he showed multiple signs of impairment. Sanchez refused standardized field sobriety tests, and he was taken into custody without incident. During an inventory search of Sanchez’s car, police said, troopers found a sword concealed under clothing on the front seat.
A computer check showed that Sanchez had four prior DUI-related convictions and a revoked driver’s license. He was taken to Troop 4 where he was charged with fifth-offense driving under the influence, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, terroristic threatening, driving while suspended or revoked, and driving an unsafe motor vehicle. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $6,700 secured bond.
