Linda W. Howard, loving wife, mother

May 10, 2023

Linda W. Howard, 76, of Milton, passed away with her husband and daughters by her side Saturday, April 15, 2023.

Linda was born July 17, 1946, in Lewes, to the late Samuel (Bradford) and Eva Webb. She was one of three children. Linda married her high school sweetheart, Gerald J. Howard, in 1965. Together they had two daughters, Debbie Morgan and Beth Ellen Howard, both of Milton.

Linda was a bookkeeper for several local companies throughout her 40-year career. Once Linda and Gerald retired, they were able to follow their dream of traveling our beautiful country. For 12 years, they lived in their motorhome and worked at numerous campgrounds along the East Coast. Linda’s favorite destination was Lancaster County, Pa., where she enjoyed the beautiful scenery, especially in the fall when the leaves were changing.

Above all else, Linda loved her family. She and Gerald were very happy together over their 57-year marriage and were very rarely apart. She was so proud of her daughters and two grandsons, and never failed to let them know how much she loved them. Linda will be remembered as a genuinely kind, loving, caring, and generous soul, who worked hard and never turned away from helping people. As a lifelong Christian, she loved celebrating her faith with her church family at Bay Shore Community Church in Rehoboth.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her in-laws, Charles and Lottie Howard. She is survived by her husband, Gerald Howard; her daughters, Deborah A. Morgan and Beth Ellen Howard; her two grandsons, Joshua R. Morgan and Dustin J. Howard and his wife Katy. She is also survived by her brother, Bradford G. Webb (Faye); and her sister, Mary Ellen Caranfa; her “adopted” grandson, Blake Burdick, who affectionately called her Yantin; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and special friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Bay Shore Community Church Rehoboth Campus, Above Ground Fund, 19331 Lighthouse Plaza Blvd., Rehoboth Beach.
