Lindner files to run as Democrat for Representative District 4

September 2, 2025

Democrat Gregg Lindner has filed to run for the Fourth District seat in the 2026 election. The district encompasses parts of Lewes, Millsboro, Oak Orchard, Long Neck and the surrounding Peninsula/Peninsula Lakes communities, and is currently held by Rep. Jeff Hilovsky, R-Long Neck.

Lindner said his early campaign launch is a continuation of the momentum from his 2024 run for the same seat.

“It’s time for change – one that reflects the evolving needs of both longtime and newer residents of the district,” he said in a press release, noting that more than 60% of the district’s registered voters moved to the district since 2016.

Lindner retired as president of a multinational media company with operations in the U.S. and Latin America, and served for eight years as an elected school board director for the Unionville-Chadds Ford School District in Chester County, Pa.

Lindner said rapid growth in Sussex County, particularly in RD 4, is one of the district’s most pressing issues. While impact fees can help finance new school construction, he said, these fees do not address the growing operational costs within the district. Lindner said the local school referendum process needs reform to ensure quality education for children.

Lindner also plans to focus on key issues such as energy needs, affordable housing shortages, representing the interests and needs of those in manufactured housing communities, and rising food insecurity. Additionally, he said, he is committed to advancing constitutional amendments to protect voting rights, reproductive freedoms and marriage equality in Delaware.

Lindner and his wife Kathy have five grown children.
