Little Vikings decorate holiday placemats for Meals on Wheels

Little Vikings preschoolers and educators collaborated with SoDel Concepts and Meals on Wheels Lewes-Rehoboth to bring joy to homebound seniors. As part of learning about community, kindness and giving back, students worked to create colorful, personalized placemats that were delivered with Meals on Wheels lunches during Thanksgiving week.

Throughout the project, preschoolers explored what it means to be part of a community and how even small acts of kindness can make a big impact. Teachers guided students in conversations about helping others, showing empathy and working together. The placemat-making activity allowed students to put these skills into action while strengthening fine motor skills, creativity and social-emotional development, all in support of a meaningful cause.
