Local author to kick off new children’s book signings Oct. 29

Local author James VanSciver has just published his eighth book, a children's work titled, “Hi! I’m Pinocchio.”

A 10-week-old Sheltie named Pinocchio shares his wisdom with readers about subjects such as picking friends, gaining respect and making correct decisions. His advice parallels Walt Disney’s timeless story about a puppet who would become a boy.

Cape Region book signings will take place from 4 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 29, at the Beach Plum Dunes Clubhouse, 36916 Crooked Hammock Way, Lewes; and from 4 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 8, at Crooked Hammock Brewery and restaurant, 36707 Crooked Hammock Way, Lewes.

Copies of a companion book, “Hi! I’m Elvis,” as well as three fictional baseball books, “Close Play at Home,” “Carnage of a Curveball” and “Running on Empty,” will also be available.
