Author Karl Wegener, a Milton resident and former intelligence analyst, received honors for “Operation Nightfall: The Web of Spies” at the BookFest Fall 2024 Awards.
His Cold War thriller won a second-place award in the Literary Fiction, Mystery/Thriller/Suspense category and a third-place award in the Thriller/Espionage category.
Set in Poland in 1948, the novel weaves a tale of betrayal, survival and harrowing escape.
