Local DAR Chapter to mark Constitution Day Sept. 17

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution Maj. Nathaniel Mitchell Chapter will hold a Constitution Day Ceremony Saturday, Sept. 17, in Georgetown. Attendees will meet at 3:50 p.m. on The Circle to participate in the Ringing of the Bells Across America at 4 p.m. in honor of the United States Constitution.
Constitution Week was initiated by the Daughters of the American Revolution, a patriotic organization that encourages education and historic preservation in its communities. Constitution Week is celebrated every year from Sept. 17 to 23. Constitution Day is always Sept. 17.
Everyone is welcome to join this celebration. In case of rain, participants will meet in Georgetown Town Hall.
