Almost 20 locally elected officials and administrators, including town, city and county representatives, visited Delaware’s congressional delegation March 13, at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.
The annual Hill Day, organized by the Delaware League of Local Governments, is a long-standing tradition. This year, participants discussed American Rescue Plan Act funds; forever chemicals and their mitigation, along with related local financial obligations; congressionally directed spending for public safety and public works facilities; federal programs and legislation to enhance education and local talent retention; and federal advocacy for affordable housing, especially in Sussex County and other areas of rapid growth.
