Local ministers co-author ‘God Bod: Watch Your Wait’

Sussex County ministers and educators Tim and Ronetta Cartwright, a husband-and-wife author team, announced the release of their book, “God Bod: Watch Your Wait.”

During a year of personal growth, spiritual testing and real-life challenges, they wrote the book as a timely reminder that true transformation begins within. 

This faith-based resource helps readers examine the spiritual weight they carry and strengthen what truly matters.

“This book is about spiritual fitness,” said Tim Cartwright. “The same way we train our bodies, we have to build up our spirit. That takes time, intention and patience.”

The book centers around the biblical story of Lot – not his wife’s fate, but Lot himself. Through that lens, the authors unpack the idea of being “overwait” or “underwait” spiritually. These metaphors mirror physical health challenges but speak to the inner burdens people carry in silence.

“We wrote this for anyone who’s tired of pushing through but hasn’t taken time to grow through,” said Ronetta Cartwright. “There’s strength in the stillness, and healing in the wait.”

The Cartwrights serve in local ministry at Impact Church in Georgetown.
