Local publisher releases ‘Shore Bets: The Delmarva Fun Guide’
The newest book from Secrets of the Eastern Shore is an all-in-one guide to wandering the Delmarva Peninsula that puts hundreds of fun, intriguing events and itineraries – from down in Cape Charles, Va. to up in Elkton, Md. and New Castle County – at readers’ fingertips.
“Shore Bets: The Delmarva Fun Guide” is the fifth book by Jim Duffy, who founded Secrets of the Eastern Shore with his wife, photographer Jill Jasuta, as a business that encourages people to get in closer touch with the beauty, culture and history of Delaware and the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
Duffy describes “Shore Bets” as an idea factory, full of quick-hitting, what-readers-need-to-know descriptions of more than 150 annual events and over 125 possible destinations.
“The reason I put ‘Shore Bets’ together is simple – it didn’t exist yet,” said Duffy. “Traditional travel guides about Maryland and Virginia mostly focus on the western shore, while guides to Delaware don’t extend onto the Eastern Shore of Maryland and Virginia.”
“Shore Bets” is available in local bookstores and retail shops, and online at SecretsoftheEasternShore.com.
