Locals celebrate Delaware Lottery wins

February 22, 2026

Two local residents recently scored big wins with the Delaware Lottery.

A 36-year-old woman from Milton received a life-changing top prize of $100,000 playing the All Cash Instant Game. The winning ticket was purchased at Delux Deli in Milton. The winner said she does not typically play the lottery and rarely visits the location where the ticket was purchased. On the day of the win, she was dropping off a food donation to a local church and stopped into the deli because it was nearby. While there, she purchased instant tickets for a family member and, on a whim, decided to buy one for herself. The winner said the first thing she plans to do is donate to a local nonprofit. She does not plan to make any major purchases, but said the win will provide increased financial stability for her and her family, and significantly reduce financial stress. She described the experience as “such a blessing” for her family.

“This player wasn’t expecting anything for herself that day. She was focused on giving back to her community, and to see that generosity come full circle is incredibly special,” said Helene Keeley, director of the Delaware Lottery.

After playing KENO at Nicola Pizza in Lewes, George Covill III of Rehoboth has claimed a $12,000 prize from the Delaware Lottery. Covill, a self-employed contractor, said he has been playing the Delaware Lottery for about five years for fun and typically purchases around 20 tickets at a time. For this winning ticket, he selected his own numbers, using birthdays and other significant dates, and matched nine out of 10 numbers. He said he plans to place his winnings into savings.

“George’s story is a great example of how players make KENO heir own, from choosing meaningful numbers to sticking with a favorite location,” said Keeley.
