Lord Baltimore Lions sale raises funds for community causes

July 19, 2025

The Lord Baltimore Lions Club held its annual yard and bake sale June 21 in the parking lot of Lord Baltimore Elementary School in Ocean View.

Despite the hot temperatures, community members and beach-goers showed up in force to find deals on furniture, tools, sports equipment, women’s and men’s clothing, household items, holiday decorations and more.

Treasurer Janet Bauer organized the bake sale that offered an array of cakes, cookies and other assorted delectables. Not a crumb remained by the end of the sale, said Bauer.

Newly elected President Thrynn Kirby kicked off the Be Our Guests raffle program offering ticket holders chances to win gift cards for local restaurants, entertainment venues, boutiques, mini-golf and more.

All sale proceeds will benefit community causes the club supports, including free medical equipment lending, food pantries, Special Olympics, scholarships, eye care and eyeglasses recycling, diabetes awareness and Leader Dogs for the Blind.

The Lord Baltimore Lions Club has served the communities of Bethany Beach, Clarksville, Dagsboro, Frankford, Millville and Ocean View since 1946.
