Guests were immersed in a living gallery of student- and family-created trifold displays that shared personal heritage stories through photos, artifacts and meaningful cultural details.
Attendees experienced the beauty of traditional regalia, the joy of international dance and the universal language of music, including a dynamic live performance by local band Hot Sauce. The event also featured family-led performances and engaging, hands-on activities for all ages.
A diverse selection of food showcased authentic dishes representing culinary traditions from around the world. The variety of flavors offered a delicious glimpse into the global roots of the school’s families, and food was purchased courtesy of a grant provided by the Cape Henlopen Educational Foundation.
“Multicultural night was more than just a celebration; it was a meaningful experience that fostered inclusion, understanding and respect,” said Julia Schmidt, who teaches multilingual language learners at Love Creek. “By sharing our traditions and learning from one another, we continue to build a stronger, more connected school community where everyone feels seen, heard and valued.”
The success of the event underscores the school’s commitment to creating a welcoming environment where every student and family belongs, and all cultures are celebrated.
