Lynette K. Kovack, talented beautician
Lynette K. Kovack, 63, of Bridgeville, passed away Monday, Feb. 9, 2015, at Christiana Care Health System in Newark. She was born Jan. 25, 1952, in Milford, daughter of the late Harry and Charlotte (Anderson) Kefauver Jr.
Lynette owned and operated Lynette's Originated Beauty Array, Cannon Street in Bridgeville for 40 years which she opened at 19 years of age. She was a talented beautician, known locally for her precision haircuts and styling. Lynette began her career as a beautician when she was only 17 years of age. She also enjoyed her position of shift supervisor with the L. D. Caulk Co. of Milford in the Restorative Division for 10 years.
A community-minded woman, Lynette was a 30-year member of the Bridgeville Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and longtime member of the Seaford Elks Lodge Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the 1st State Corvette Club, owning her pride and joy, a 1974 cherry red Corvette. Lynette was a member of Union United Methodist Church in Bridgeville and also had attended St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Laurel.
Lynette's talents went beyond her hair dressing skills, she was a talented baker and cake decorator. Lynette also enjoyed flower arranging, ceramics, knitting and needlepoint. She loved sharing her talents with friends and family alike.
In addition to her parents, Lynette was preceded in death by her brother, Lynn Kefauver. She is survived by her loving husband, Paul M. Kovack of Bridgeville; two stepsons, Christopher Scott Kovack of St. Thomas, Pa. and Paul Michael Kovack II and his wife Jessica of Ovid, Idaho; five stepgrandchildren; three nieces whom she helped to raise, Lynnsue Kefauver Bennett and her husband Daniel of Elkton, Md., Betty Ann Kefauver Nichols and her husband Leroy of Salisbury, Md., and Vanessa Kefauver Carter and her husband Gary of Greenwood; four great-nieces; three great-nephews; two great-great-nieces; and two great-great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, Feb. 16, at Union United Methodist Church, Bridgeville, where friends may visit beginning at 11:30 a.m. Interment will immediately follow the services at Bridgeville Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
