At its May 11 meeting, the Major Nathaniel Mitchell Chapter NSDAR installed officers to serve for a term of three years.
The chapter and its National Defense Committee awarded JROTC medals and certificates for patriotism, military discipline, leadership and academic achievement to Cadet Brayan E. Canseco from Indian River High School, CPT Sharnaé Harmon from Sussex Technical High School, and Cadet Victoria Diaz-Hanzer from Sussex Central High School.
The chapter will reconvene in September after a brief summer recess. During this time, members will be promoting Constitution Week, and will be looking for posters and essays on this subject from youth in the community.
