Mariner boys’ basketball outlasts Riders 44-41

In a game where one point separated the teams until the last few ticks on the clock, the 7-1 Mariner boys’ squad held off the 5-2 Postlethwait Middle School team 44-41 in front of a large and loudly cheering crowd at the Mariner gymnasium.
Bruce Mosley led the Vikings with 13 points. Nick Cox added 11, while Kai Bickham put nine in the book. Dylan Henry scored four, and Trey Leggins, Cody Trivits and Maurki James each scored two.
Malachi Brinkley scored 19 to lead the Riders.
The Vikings will travel to Sussex Academy Wednesday, Jan. 23, to face the Seahawks.
