Marty Rendon is best candidate for RD14

April 30, 2024

I am writing to urge my fellow 14th District Democrats to vote for my friend Marty Rendon in the state representative primary election this September. I have known Marty for more than 30 years, and, as an early childhood educator, have been impressed with his work on behalf of vulnerable children through his role as vice president for public policy and advocacy for UNICEF USA.

Marty’s campaign slogan is Ready to Work for You, and indeed he is! Through his recent work as a Delaware human rights commissioner, and chair of the commission’s legislative committee, Marty has led initiatives such as the right-to-counsel for tenants facing eviction, no-excuse absentee voting, constitutional protection for the LGBTQ community and people with disabilities, and legislative protection for those experiencing homelessness. Marty has truly demonstrated his understanding of the needs of Delaware’s citizens – and particularly those who are disenfranchised – as well as his expertise in working through the political process to get things done.

Marty is committed to preserving all our civil rights and advancing equality, protecting women’s reproductive rights, meeting our environmental challenges, reducing traffic congestion and addressing transportation needs, addressing the needs of the senior population and other issues pertinent to us coastal Delawareans. Marty has said, “Let’s get this done together!” Together, we can get him elected, and he’ll be there for all of us!
