Mary Ellen Mann, had giving spirit
Mary Ellen Mann, 73, of Lewes passed away Monday, Sept. 6, 2021, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes. Ms. Mann was born in Wilmington June 15, 1948, daughter of the late William H. and Anne (O’Brien) Mann.
Ms. Mann was a dedicated caregiver, and always put her family and others before herself. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, playing a game of pool and watching her favorite show, “Wheel of Fortune,” where she would try to guess the phrase before the contestants.
Ms. Mann was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and a dear friend, who will be remembered for her love of family. She will be truly missed by all of those who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Mann was preceded in death by her sisters, Arlene Slimak and Phyliss B. Maher; three brothers: William, Brian and James Mann. Ms. Mann is survived by her loving daughter, Amy Victoria Mann of Lewes; two grandchildren: Tyler Scott O’Conner and Brianna Marie Herron; two sisters: Jean Bainger of Jermyn, Pa., and Karen Gallagher of Wilmington; brother, Paul Mann of Brockton, Mass.; sister-in-law Betty Mann Beebe; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Keeping with Mary Ellen’s giving spirit, her remains will be donated to science in lieu of a funeral. A private family celebration of life will be planned at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in Mary Ellen Mann's memory to the American Lung Association of Delaware.
